START USING CLIMB DIRECTLY IN YOUR PROJECTS

Ecogain experts have been involved in the development of CLIMB, know the methodology and have worked with it in several projects. We help you to count with CLIMB in ongoing and future projects.

For example, you can use our environmental consultants to:

  • map biodiversity in an area

  • investigate alternative locations and designs

  • assessing impacts before and after a change in land use

  • understand and assess different impacts

  • streamline the environmental assessment of your activities

  • planning and implementing restoration and compensation

  • enable follow-up against clearly formulated objectives

  • report impacts on biodiversity

  • develop new biodiversity indicators

FACTS ABOUT CLIMB

CLIMB is a calculation model that quantifies biodiversity within a defined area. It is based on DEFRA's Biodiversity Metric 3.0 and adapted to Nordic conditions.

With CLIMB, you can calculate the current situation, as well as negative and positive impacts on biodiversity in a way that was not possible before. This makes it easier to avoid and minimize impacts, plan for restoration and compensation, and report on biodiversity performance.

CLIMB enables new biodiversity KPIs (loss or gain) such as biodiversity units per hectare:

- installed capacity wind or solar power

- kilometers of road, power line or other infrastructure

- new living space; per 100 households

- megatons of mined ore

- ha for an investment case
